Spread the popped popcorn evenly across two large, shallow baking pans. If using peanuts, add them to the popcorn at this stage and toss to combine.

  2. Preheating the Oven: Preheat your oven to a low temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 degrees Celsius). This slow baking ensures the caramel coating sets evenly without burning the popcorn.

  3. Crafting the Caramel: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, margarine (or butter), and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly to ensure everything dissolves and blends well. Once boiling, continue stirring for 5 minutes.
